Great apartment and in a perfect location in LA. However shocking experience with the host . I had queried ahead of booking how access to the apartment and it’s advertised facilities would work due to the security system essentially restricting non-residents from using the pool, gym, games room etc. I was assured this would all be fine. It wasn’t. The host after checking us in disappeared and didn’t respond to messages asking for help with access. Messages via Airbnb to Maile Estates were met with empty apologies for the inconvenience we were experiencing but ultimately did nothing to resolve this. After chasing regularly – during and post our stay I was eventually blocked from being able to send this agent any further messages. No compensation for paying premium rate for premium facilities we couldn’t use and our holiday spoilt.
We booked this place well in advance of our trip. The night before we were to arrive we contacted them for an early check in, to which they said yes if we paid and extra $100. We did. They texted us all morning and said to meet at 1:30 and text Liam. He never showed up and responded the reservation was canceled, which is was not. My friend spent 3 HOURS on the sidewalk waiting to check ing, while Malie Estate gave us the run around and failed to communicate what was happening. I was on the the app and phone with airbnb for 3 straight hours and it wasn't until Airbnb got in touch with them that they finally responded and told us the reservation was canceled. I was on a plane to LA at the time. The phone number on the website was fake and the person who answered said they didn't know who "Malie Estates" was. The whole thing felt like fraud. We got our booking money back but not the $100. Don't trust them or you'll be sorry and stuck with no place to stay!
The space was beautiful and impressively clean. This apartment is in a fantastic location with lots to do. There was plenty of space for everyone to feel comfortable and the host was responsive.

We really enjoyed staying in this apartment, both the apartment itself and the location. The apartment is very spacious, clean, and bright. The bedrooms are well-arranged, the kitchen is comfortable, and the view from the window is beautiful. The apartment is located in a beautiful residential complex, which was very convenient, as there is a cafe downstairs where you can grab a bite to eat and a cup of coffee. The walk to the beach is about 15 minutes. Our stay was excellent, with a beautiful apartment and close proximity to the beach.
Gorgeous location with lots of things to do nearby within walking distance. A short walk to the ocean, even shorter to a beach in marina - mothers beach. You can rent boats and peddle boards there. Super nice development with clean and empty pool and hot tub, lots of nooks to sit, eat and grill inside the building. Kitchen had everything to cook with, including gas stove and wine fridge. When we couldn’t find a can opener the host offered to buy and bring one next day. We loved it all. Pricy but very nice.
